Day 16 Culture Exchange Day

Today is Culture Exchange Day.

This is the day of showcasing rich cultural heritage and pride and displaying one’s originality and identity. This is also SEAMEO’s Visit day.

We, the Filipino SEA-TEACHERS, serenade the visitors with our “Harana” – a traditional serenade from the rural areas of the Philippines in which a young man courts a young lady by singing and playing a guitar in order to win the lady’s heart. Sheen and I sang together while playing a guitar.

SEA-TEACHERS from Indonesia presented a song and dance number. Thai students performed a traditional dance and played traditional instruments.

All in all, the three countries and nationalities did excellent presentations about their own culture. The event was joyful and awesome. I was a success/triumph.
